Maverick DC-2 Super Jedi Tuning Secrets?

So I'm trying to get the rebound on a Maverick dialed in and having absolutely no luck. The oil levels suggested on the Maverick website is 90ml, and I have tried that and adding oil in 15ml increments. The Cartridge feels sticky, and "skips" or feels like it "misses the oil" for a section in the middle of the stroke and at the very top, like the oil is not deep enough, hence the adding more oil to see if it would help. No dice. Also experimented with a few different air pressure settings but didnt help. The fork is still totally usable as is, but the reboud stroke is not smooth and a tops out a bit at the end. The negative spring on the air leg is crimped and fixed as per Maverick's rec, and the tech guys at Maverick are out until Monday.
Any suspension gurus out there with any secret Jedi tuning tips. Have at it. Thanks in advance.

Are you sure your lock down lever, what do the call it, climb-it? or something, is all the way off? Where is your rebound knob, is it all the way slow? DUC behaves much better with thicker oil, like 15wt in the damper and rebound knob at full fast. Anotherwords, tune your rebound with oil weight rather than with the knob.

Set the damper cartridge fluid so it is filled to 60/63mm from the TOP
reassemble and inflate to 60psi,
I've just changed from the standard 5wt to 10wt and run 4 clicks off the fastest setting,
and swapped around the shim stack from 21-15-12 to 21-12-15 & piston flat side down,
still fettling but its an improvement IMHO.
I just rebuilt my duc for the first time and was pretty shocked at how little fluid there was in the damper. Mine felt similar to what you're describing previous to the rebuild. Just changed and added more oil and repressurized. The top out stopped.

Question on the crimped spring though.........

Not on every compression, but frequently enough that it's annoying, my fork is making kind of a binding spring feeling and noise on the rebound stroke. Almost like the one and only spring in the thing is getting pinched. It's kind of abrasive. Is crimping the spring down on the plastic supposed to address this?
