First, I have searched this forum and did not find an answer to my problem. Perhaps someone here can help me out. My 2004 mx comp, bought aftermarket, worked great until a couple of months ago when it started losing air in the preload chamber and showing a little oil on the stanchion. I had the seals and oil replaced a couple of weeks ago and it worked fine for about 25 or so miles. Then I started seeing oil on the stanchion again and having to pump it up before every ride. These are not a very complicated fork, but I can't figure out what is up. Oh yeah, the stanchions are not scratched up. Any thoughts?:madman:

check the seal at the top nut ... it might need some grease to help sealing or maybe it was damaged in reassembly.... also take a look at the schrader valve core...

you can take the fork off and drop it in the tub/sink to see where the air is coming out (if it is a big leak)
