I want to send my adjustment knobs and foot nuts form an 888rc out to the annodizer - no more gold. Silly, huh? How do I remove the adjustment (rebound/compression) knobs? I know it has a small bolt (2.5 or 3mm) at the top, but I get a lot of resistance when trying to loosen it and I don't want to do any damage/strip it. I guess I can try some PB Blaster to try an loosen it up. Is it standard threading or reverse? And can I remove the foot nuts without losing any oil or leaking? Thanks. The 888rc is a new fork for me and I'd appreciate any advice.

Usually the knobs come off the top fairly easily... The bolts are a little snug, but not too bad.. Standard threading. As for the foot nuts, keep the fork upside down and you should be able to do it... But once the foot nuts are off, if the fork is turned, it will be a mess.
