Anyone game for a Marin ride on Turkey Day, preferably morning since I need to prep for dinner that night. Something nice and enjoyable. Anyone want to get together for a ride somewhere in Marin?

You interested in joining up with the Fairfax Turkey ride on Pine Mountain? I was thinking of possibly heading over early (7:30am?), parking near the Java Hut, and hitting that ride. I've got to get back to Oakland for dinner with the family by about 1pm or so.

There are normally hundreds of riders, people handing out drinks and gus at various places on the trail, and it's lots of fun (although crowded). Last year I added Tamarancho to the Pine Mountain loop, for some extra (and less crowded) fun. Since I haven't been on those trails since last Thanksgiving, I have totally forgotten them and may get lost, so I might just follow the crowds and just do Pine Mountain.

Finishing off thru Tamarancho, instead of Repack, would be the icing on the cake, or cool whip on the pumpkin pie so to speak!

Mike, our group isn't starting 'til 8ish, but if you can start a little later, we could re-introduce you to the trails??

I was going to skip Tamaranco/Pine Mountain area because I am doing the Post-Marin Turkey Ride and that trail wont be to nice to my somewhat healed broken wrist.

But that ride does sound really fun, are you doing it for sure Plim. I might just talk myself into it!

Never done that loop, how difficult would you rate it?

Yup. I'm planning on doing the Turkry ride over Pine Mtn. I have an old friend coming in from out of town who's joining me. I would rate the ride as somewhat difficult, a little bit on the longish side, maybe 20- 25 miles with about 2000 ft. of climbing. Just a wild guess. Thinking back, I think I told my friend about the new trails called Porcupine and White's Hill trails, so we actually may end up descending that path rather than through Tamarancho.

That sounds fine. I'll wear my bright orange shirt, and will PM you my cell number, hopefully that'll allow me to find you in the hullaballoo.

Looks like I'm doing it for sure. You know you want to. (Of course, I don't know how bad your wrist is, hope it doesn't keep you from coming, and if you do come, I hope it doesn't flare up and keep you from riding Friday.)

I'll be driving up to the java hut(if there's parking) in a red Nissan Titan truck with racks. There will be two Santa Cruz's in the back, one a yellowish Superlight, the other an anodized orange Blur LT. Probably be wearing black tights and a blue jersey. Hope to see you Thursday.

Sorry that weren't able to connect at the Java Hut before the Turkey Ride. My friend from out of town showed up at my house a half hour later than our planned meeting time. We didn't get to Fairfax until 8:15 and the place was already a zoo. Not easy to find a place to park. I didn't know what any of you looked like and there were people everywhere. Most people rolled right about when we showed up. However, we had a great time, the trails were in awesome shape, and the views were incredible. We'll try again another time.
