I have the i map my ride program on my computer, and i have a garmen 255 gps and supposedly you can link your garmen with the program but i dont know how to do it even no there are directions... has anyone done it already and can help me out

You can get data off of a Nuvi, but I am not entirely sure how. I have one, but I've never bothered to transfer waypoints or anything off of it. I did load maps onto mine recently. Garmin's maps have crap coverage of the big island of Hawaii, so I loaded gpsfiledepot.com topos to compensate. They display on top of Garmin's maps no problem. I used Mapsource for that, obviously, so I imagine Mapsource could also download from the Nuvi if I wanted.
I don't know if any websites can do it directly or not. MMR is a website as far as I'm aware. Did they develop a mobile app recently?

Garmin Connect
The Nuvi is for roads and will not have any trails on it. I often find it doesn't even have very small roads on it. If you have a Garmin "fitness device" it will give you this type of stuff on Garmin Connect:
