Hey do any of you guys know if any of the trails around malibu and backbone canyon are being burned in the fires?
None of the trails burned. However, there was a red-flag warning, which means that State Parks will close any trails in their jurisdiction. Not sure if that's still on, but you should call before you go if you are planning riding in Malibu Creek State Park or somewhere like that.

Agoura_biker - can we get a wind report for the backbone area as well as the Cheseboro Canyon area like China Flat/Dead Cow/any of the other nearby trails?

Sorry, I just got back online, so this is likely too late. I tried to ride in Simi Valley this morning (Chumash/Johnson/Hummingbird). Got out of the car and almost got blown away - and it was COLD! Plan B! Rode Sycamore Canyon; it was cool and somewhat windy, but much better than Simi and quite enjoyable (as long as you had enough warm clothes). Here in Agoura there was very little wind early in the morning, it picked up a bit by mid morning, but never seemed too bad.
