Ok, I think I found the ride I am going to break down and buy. Here's the skinny: Used 07 Enduro SL Expert, $1750 being sold by authorized dealer...entire rear shock is being replaced by Specialized since the 07 models apparently had something malfunction on them. Also replacing the valving on bike for both front and rear susp. Cartridges being replaced on front fork. Full warranty as if being sold new (5 yrs on front and rear suspension). I confirmed this with Specialized customer service as well.

I saw the bike in person and it is in great shape. I would love to have bought a new 08 or 09 but I just cant afford to do it. I test rode an 08 Enduro SL Comp and loved it but the price tag was just too steep. ($2850)

Interested in any opinions good and bad. Is it a good deal? This site and the reviews on the bike were extremely helpful in making a decision. It will be nice to get off the HT Cannondale I've been riding. (Although she has been good to me over the years!)

The Expert has great components and if Specialized is indeed allowing the suspension and frame warranties to transfer, sounds like a good deal. I'd buy another one in a heartbeat..

Yeah, a great deal on a great bike! My 07 Comp had the fork cartridges swapped for 08, and the entire rear shock swapped out as well following rebound damping failure on the original 07 - it's been rockin' ever since. Go for it!

(I'm actually now running a Coil DHX 5.0 in the rear, but that has nothing to do with the reliability or performance of the original shock - I've just set up the bike for how I ride it....more on the "light FR/DH" side...).
