There's a thread on this a bit further down. Obviously MS stitched the leather in the wrong slot. My solution was to cut off the leather and use one of the straps to hold the mount in place. On my Giro helmet it works great and an added bonus- I use the left over strap to attach my hb light's battery to the frame.

I just put mine on. The velcro straps are extra long so cut down as much as you need to allow it to securely tighten without any overlap.
I cut about 1/3 of the straps down until I got a nice tight fit. And use the small O ring to secure the light head to the mount.
Quite easy and adjustable system.
