Expect 5 stages of steep raw terrain in the coastal redwoods of Humboldt County. This race is held on private timber land with a very special thanks to Green Diamond Resource Company. The trail system is currently under development for members of the Redwood Coast Mountain Bike Association (RCMBA). These trails are not yet open to the public, but this race will give you the chance to ride them all.
The trails being used are require experience and confidence of intermediate to professional riders. For this year's race, Sport and Beginner categories will be combined, reducing the categories to sport/beginner, expert, and open/pro. You may change categories no later than 5pm on Friday September 6 if you feel you belong in another category after riding the trails. All riders are encouraged to attend practice opn Friday with unlimited shuttles between 10am-6pm. Safety is a priority and we ask that good judgement is made in regard to your capabilities. All racers are required to wear full face helmets during practice and race day.
Camping will be offered again this year. We are currently working on additional arrangements but the field used last year will be available for tent camping only. RV camping is available at the near by Blue Lake Rancheria. Please indicate if you plan on camping for planning purposes.
We will have two aid stations on course during race day and one during practice at the shuttle pick up. As is with enduro, please come prepared and be as self sufficient as possible. Limited mechanical support will be available should the trails take a toll on your equipment. Light lunch/snacks will be served during Friday practice and a full meal will be served to all participants on Saturday after the race at the Mad River Brewery.
