Mad Blur

GLAD Blur

I was a sad Blur.

Now I'm a mad blur (owner).

My Blur broke about two weeks ago, let's call that Day 1. On Day 5, I took it to my shop. After several phone calls to SC, they were told, on Day 7, to send an email. Several more calls since then, and as of today, Day 18, SC hasn't responded in any way to address my problem.

I believe my shop has been diligent and SC has not. I'm getting kind of pissed and disappointed.

I've asked for advice about a new bike, in case they don't warranty the frame, but at this rate, I don't think SC is on the list.

SC, are you guys there? Are you listening?

Sorry to hear of your plight. Seems there should be little issue with getting you set up with a new ride.

I too am disappointed in SC right now. Original owner of my Blur, sent in bearings a month ago for free replacement. E- mails and phone calls later no bearings. Thankfully I had another set or my bike would have been a garage ornament during prime riding season.

Way to go SC:nono:

Yeah, and a few months ago when my rear shock bolt fell out and all the little parts ended up on the trail, it took SC three tries to send the right parts to the shop.
I can't tell from your "sad blur" pics if you have a blur classic or LT, but either way, a cracked frame should warrant a replacement. keep at 'em with email/phone. work with your shop, especially if they're SC dealers...they should have an inside contact to help with the problem.BTW, in reference to the bolt, I had a similar issue with getting an upper shock bolt a few months back...it took a couple extra phone calls and a couple overnight UPS attempts but the part did get to my shop and it turned out all right in the end. Good Luck with it!
Peace.

bkish: there's gotta be a shop to buy a propack bearing set; keep the receipt and send it to SC with a letter asking for refund.
Today, I've left phone messages and an email with Willie, the warranty guy at SC. My shop tells me that they haven't even had any response, other than to be told to send an email instead of calling. So as it is, two weeks later, I don't even have attention from SC. So disappointed. I even told them I'd take and XCc or LT2c if that's all they have in stock. ;)

PTown,

It's a Blur XC.
Wow that is pathetic. I vaguely remember your original post from weeks ago, can't believe you still haven't heard anything. Maybe you should call marketing department - it seems they have enough time to pay for ads at the top of this page.
Hmmm, was wondering if something happened to one of my bikes would SC "help" me out.
I know I am not the original owner but there was a similar post of someone that had a crack in a Cannondale frame and since he was the original owner they told him no go. I currently own 5 SC bikes and surely that has to hold some water?
Whenever I have email questions through to SC they have been pretty helpful tho
Resolution!

Thanks to SC. They offered either to replace me Blur XC or a LT2 (aluminum, not carbon) for $300 and my broken frame. Guess which one I took?

Thank you, Willie.
You'll love the LT2. :) I take back my pathetic comment, response time was a bit long, but they obviously took care of you.
YAY SC!

(Fanboy exclamation over.)

I was gonna say, you need to chase Willie B, but it looks like the deed is done!

Enjoy youe 'best bike in the world'! I recently got me an LT2 and Im F******* Happy!

extra YAY
good things come to those who wait!

congrats on great customer service and new frame...ENJOY!
It seems that individuals get more out of SC than shops seem too. Wonder why?
I have to say that I was totally impressed with Santa Cruz and their warranty dept. Willie was very helpfull and Fast! I was not the orginal owner of a classic blur and when I got a crack on the frame he was very cool! Anyway I got a new front for $200 and Willie put in new bearings ect. and shipped it to me in 2 days! WOW was I surprised with the speed. Props to Willie!
Finally got in touch with the infamous Willie regarding my bearings.

He did me right, so despite the delay I'm happy again.
Santa Cruz time is not real time.
