Is there a difference in the chassis between a 2018 Lyrik and a 2021 Lyrik that would affect swapping a avalanche damper cartridge?

The new fork I was told came off a 2021 Specialized Enduro and has a build code of 33T00. My old fork is a 2018 with build code 49T7. The new fork has the C1 air spring and floating piston select damper on it so it seems to be a 2021 despite the 2020 build date?

I was told that a 2021 fork has a different length by 30mm and would need new shaft/tube pieces to make it work.

I have both forks apart and I can not see any meaningful length difference. About the only difference I see is the new fork stanchions are machined maybe 1mm deeper into the crown. The axle bosses are different but the old fork is 27.5 and the new is 29. Bottom out bumpers seem to be in the same position. I have put the cartridge in and everything seems fine.

Did I get bad info and everything is good? Is this not a 2021 fork?

Sounds like bad info, I don’t think there’s ever been a 30mm change, that’s huge! All the air shafts are interchangeable from 2016 to 2021 so it should be fine.

33t0 means it was manufactured in week 33, 2020 which makes it a 2021 fork for sure. Most years they aren’t produced any longer than about week 15-20.

That's what I'm thinking as well, but I was worried I was maybe overlooking something that is more subtle.

I thought I remembered reading that they made the legs asymmetrical in length but I think that was only on the Pike?

Could be, it wasn't something I was paying much attention to at the time so I could definitely be remembering wrong.

I did hear back and it sounds like maybe there are different versions out there with about 15mm difference somewhere in the chassis. I couldn't comment on anything more than that though.

Either way, the fork I have, the cartridge will swap over without an issue.

Yeah the pikes had varying lengths so the travel would be different for the same air shaft in a <2018 29" and 27.5" fork, 2018 pike and >2019 pike. Going from a 2016 27.5" Pike to 2020 Lyrik might have 30mm difference for the same shaft length

Some had tighter/looser cap threads and that was it. Everything swaps across.

Lyrik wheel size is done in the lower casting. Internals don't change with wheel size.
Pike changed internal size with the A series. B series they used the 27" internals and changed casting only for wheel size.
