Lyrik floodgate mod help...

2464 Views 6 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  eatdrinkride
referencing this thread I am attempting to remove the floodgate from my Lyrik. I removed the c-clip from the bottom but when I use my fingernails to pull the gold dome out it is providing quite a bit of resistance and seems spring loaded.

Do I just pull real hard or am I missing a step.

thanks

So I pulled harder than I thought I should and it popped out. I only have 2 pieces though. The c-clip and the dome shaped piece which is attached to a black piece via a spring. The pic below from the other thread shows several pieces.

Did I miss something or do I have an old style (or new style) damper that is just different?

This pic is not my MiCo but copied from another poster on how to do the mod.

Well, I probed a bit deeper with a dental pick and pulled out two more pieces shown above. The plastic piece below the dome appears severely deformed.

Anyhow I guess I'm good. If you guys have anything to add I'd like to hear it.
Edr...

Bout time you read up on this mod. It'll transform your Lyik and get you the small bump suppleness you've been seeking. That in combination with your PUSH'd RP23... you WILL love the 575:D

Sounds good. Hope to get out to SoMo tomorrow to check it out.
Do you still have the small washer/shim that came out of the lyrik? If you don't plan on putting the floodgate back in I would like to buy that from you.

I do, however I'm keeping the parts just in case. Sorry dude good luck.

Give Rock Shocks call with the part number on hand. You can get it from their tech diagrams....i think. Maybe they'll help you out. Honestly it's a better fork without the floodgate.
