...else try to take a photo of the "blood moon"?



If it wasn't for my dog asking to be let out one last time I would have forgotten this was even happening.

Dark side of the earth...

In regards to getting to see/photograph this eclipse; I'm lucky because Hollister receives the "coastal marine layer" late and it leaves earlier. I could see the fog off to the west so I rather hurriedly made preparations to take a picture; I should have used a better tripod and used the delay timer; most of the 20 +/- shots I took show "shutter" bounce, etc.

While watching this come down; I thought to myself "how neat it would be to be on the moon" during such an event. Simultaneously viewing all the sunrises and sunsets on the earth from afar. (The "blood moon" is painted by sunlight passing through the earth's atmosphere at a low angle---like a sunrise or sunset)

Turns out Lucien Rudaux, 1874~1947, a French artist and astronomer, had already rendered such a view:
