It would help to know what part you're trying to lube up but I'll try and read between the lines..

If it's the freehub/pawls then you can use Mineral oil as an alternative. Although some prefer to use a slightly thicker oil and I have heard of Finish line Wet lube being used. But a drop or two on each pawl with Mineral oil is a better substitute.

I have used Pedro's wet, and Pedro's dry, I have used Finish line wet and dry as well...

I would not use a wax type lube like Pedro's Ice wax..I have never used mineral oil.
I have had good results with Pedros Road Rage mineral oil - it may have even come recommended by Mavic for the free hub but don't quote me on that ....

Yours is the best suggestion yet. The mineral oil one can buy at a hardware store is too thin, Pedros is the best substitute as it is a similar weight to the Mavic stuff. There is a bunch of info in the Mavic forum.

No I'm being the dim one. It must have been the wheel and tire forum here on MTBR.

I have the rebuild procedure in a PDF, I don't know how to post it here. Maybe I could email it, but it doesnt' have tons of info on the lube type. It just says to use only Mavic Mineral Oil or you will void the warranty.
Pedros

I talked to a Mavic rep when I ordered my freehub and pawl set and he said that Pedros was nearly identical to the Mavic lube. I was using TriFlow and it was a little to thin.

Okay I just sent it. Let me know if it didn't go through and I will send it again. Good luck with the overhaul. The SX's are great wheels if you can do that procedure every once in a while.
Drugstore mineral oil works just fine. Squirt some inside the freehub, where it meets the hub. Turn upside down and let it soak the pawls while turning the freehub. Then put a few drops inside the freehub bearing where the QR skewer threads through.

The first time I did the free hub service on my Crossmax ST I used mineral oil, but then repeated the service with Pedros Road Rage. Here is some info (discussions, videos, Mavic PDF) I collected before doing the maintenance: Mavic Freehub Service
