Yesterday TahoeBC and I rode from S. Lake Tahoe, to the top of Lover's Leap, down to Strawberry lodge, past the climbing walls, back up and down Hawely. Got the route from Tahoetic (thanks again). Mostly singletrack from the top of echo and a very cool ride. Around 37 miles and 4,600 feet of climbing.

Really fun ride, but definitely some brutal climbing to get back, didn't help that the evil NBC purchased me a ice cream cone before the ride back up. 4600' was recorded by my bike computers altimeter, a gps probably would have clock it at over 7K ;) and it felt like 8K.

Looking down at strawberry from lovers leap I definitely was not into dropping all the way down there, but as we checked out the trail on the way down it was way to fun to stop. It reminded me a lot of lower toads since moto's are allowed on it making for fun fast sweepy single track turns.

Here is the thread that Tahoetic put up with the beta we used for this ride.

Talked to Ken at Wattabike yesterday, he's ridden down to Kuburz before on mostly single track and said he has a friend who has done it all the way to Placerville!

Some more beta on the Pony Express Route
