What's up guys, I started commuting this past fall here in Chicago, sent the bike home for winter, and now that spring is coming around I'm starting get some more commuter friendly stuff for my bike. The pannier that has caught my eye is the Louis Garneau Cambridge Bag

Any one have any experience with this or any other Garneau products?

Also, will this clip onto any rack?

Thanks everyone!

That's a nice looking pannier, but personally I would choose something else.

Things that stick out to me:
-There is no bottom attachment point so it will flop around a bit.
-Overall the top closure doesn't have good side coverage, looks like it will let water and dirt in pretty easily.
-The rectangular design means that if you have big feet and/or short chainstays your heels might be hitting the pannier with each revolution.
-The top attachment might interfere with some racks' support members, two small hooks would adapt better than the one long piece. I know this would interfere on my Delta rack and I would have to modify the pannier in order to install.

All of those seem like reasonable things I guess the reason I like this one is that it looks decently presentable, if that makes sense. Sometimes they look like gym bags and if I'm going to work or class I want something that looks nice. Any suggestions on better options keeping that in mind?

The OYB Pannier is classy looking and has a good attachment system. It's a bit smaller than the LG and not really waterproof though, but cheap at $29 each.

Basil Bags are classy looking, but I don't know what they go for, probably spendy.

If you like the look of Timbuk2 stuff, the Bullitt seems good. Reasonable price too.

The Vaude Camras looks good, but I don't know about heel strike on it.

I don't really use panniers all that often so I'm probably not as knowing as others. I've been using some Jandd panniers, which are great and some REI grocery panniers, which have heel strike problems.

Your best bet might be to go with the LG and modify them as needed if they still seem to be the best for you.
