Reminds of the time I was backpacking the Rogue River and left a pair of sunglasses at the last rest stop. I realized it not too far down the trail, so the group waited as I jogged back. I was out of breath when I got to the spot so I Ieaned over on a rock to catch my breath and crushed the glasses with my palm.Cog Wild said:It wasn't till miles DOWN Alpine trail in Westfir that I realized I set my sunglasses down at the great view area with lots of wild flowers. I am sharing this in hopes that someone will find them there and they will not be lost forever!
From a riding perspective, as you rode around the corner to the view area, I stopped pretty soon after and set them down uphill of the trail about a foot.
The sunglasses are army brown Specialized, somewhat scratched with light lenses. They blend in pretty well, so it might take a second to see them (if still there).
I will be back in Oakridge for the first Mountain Bike Oregon, so they could be left at the Mercantile with Derik or Eugene, just let them know they are Mel's from Cog Wild.
Good luck. Sounds like there is a better chance that someone will find them than they will my camera that is up there somewhere. At least you know where you left them; the camera could be anywhere.
See you at MBO!
