Lost Favorite Sunglasses on Alpine Trail at specific spot.

It wasn't till miles DOWN Alpine trail in Westfir that I realized I set my sunglasses down at the great view area with lots of wild flowers. I am sharing this in hopes that someone will find them there and they will not be lost forever!
From a riding perspective, as you rode around the corner to the view area, I stopped pretty soon after and set them down uphill of the trail about a foot.
The sunglasses are army brown Specialized, somewhat scratched with light lenses. They blend in pretty well, so it might take a second to see them (if still there).
I will be back in Oakridge for the first Mountain Bike Oregon, so they could be left at the Mercantile with Derik or Eugene, just let them know they are Mel's from Cog Wild.
Thank you!!!!

Reminds of the time I was backpacking the Rogue River and left a pair of sunglasses at the last rest stop. I realized it not too far down the trail, so the group waited as I jogged back. I was out of breath when I got to the spot so I Ieaned over on a rock to catch my breath and crushed the glasses with my palm.

Good luck. Sounds like there is a better chance that someone will find them than they will my camera that is up there somewhere. At least you know where you left them; the camera could be anywhere.

See you at MBO!

Oh THAT great view on Alpine :D ... you know, the one with the flowers and the dirt.
Yeah, I was worried I was being too vauge and was lazy to go download the camera. Here is a photo of the spot I was talking about. And I put them down about right where the photo was taken.

I might be riding this trail on saturday, i'll take a look for em. I wouldn't be surprised if someone on here rides this trail before saturday though.
I once left my gas cap at a gas station after pumping gas early in the day. Later that evening I was at a friends friends house, who I had never met, and was whining that I left my gas cap at the gas station. What do you know? This guy had gotten gas at the same station that day and filled up at the same pump and saw my cap, grabbed it, to later return it to me.
I'll check when I ride it. Hopefully soon, but at the latest, Sat.
We'll be riding it Thursday night, but I guarantee there's been 10 or 20 folks that have already been by there. Good luck, we'll look.

Brock...
Thanks all! Good luck, let's hope I am as lucky finding the gas cap!
Ok, I am very curious - any luck? Sounded like a few folks were out riding, did anyone see any sunglasses??
:)
Didn't see them Thursday. Talked with a couple of 'puffers who rode it a couple times Thursday and they didn't see anything either. Sorry.

Brock...
No worries, it was worth trying. I did look at Specialized's site and they have stopped making them, so I will have a little sad moment and move on.
Thank you all for looking!
:)
Uh, found them. At least the wife did. shoot me your address and I'll mail them to you. bikinjoe<at>gmail<dot>com
As mentioned in the email I sent out - the wife is my hero!!! My week, month and year have been made (or at least if feels like it right now).
Yahooooooo!!!
:)
Ok, so it has now been a month and other than one email from General Coonskins saying they will be shipped that week (now a month ago) there has been no word.

Before I go looking for another pair of sunglasses or return to the ones someone gave me to wear in the meantime that are taking off all the skin from the top of my ears - does anyone know how to get in touch with GC to get my sunglasses back?

I have friends going to Eugene this weekend, friends going to Oakridge, just trying to find a way to get back the best sunglasses for me I have ever owned that are not made anymore.

Thanks for any help!!
You might try posting to D.O.D @ yahoo
His job requires that he travel for weeks at a time, and he just got a new house, and is about to have a baby, so he's probably busy. If he found yer glasses, they'll get returned someday, but I'd hate to squint all summer waiting on The General. Buy some cheapies to hold you over.
