I am looking to build a wheelset for my freeride bike and am trying to figure out what parts to use. I live in Whistler and ride the mtn bike park, and local trails. Weight is a big consideration- would like to run UST - as is durability and maintenance. I am thinking either CK, Hadley, or DTSwiss, for Hubs. I was thinking about the Sun Mag 30 rim, anyone have any suggestions?

Mag 30's arn't UST, to get that you need to use EX823s.

Any of the hubs listed are a good choice, and I'd reccomend DT Alpine 3 or Competition spokes - my new DH race wheels will have DT Aerolites, but these are race wheels.

I like these.....

Hugi FR (super Uber) alpine lll`s laced to mavic 729`s. of course not ust but a super reliable set of wheels. because of spoke length availability my builder set me up with a 4x setup. i originally spec`d a 3x, but to my suprise these wheels are stout and actually light in the hand(sorry didnt have a digi-scale handy). I`ll try to post a pic, hopefully make you drool........theres alot of rims i want too try in the future. the mag 30`s are sweet looking as well as the atom labs trailpimps. but this was a complete bike build and i needed verstility for tire size and wanted reinforced brass or steel eyelets the 729`s were given the nod for my first setup. now i can run my k-rads or my mobsters(havent tried, but willing to throw some slicks when i want to hang with my friend on the road) imagine that, a FR tank on the road LMAO.......................................ghost
