45North Wrathchild, not quite the advertised 2.8 but close. I don't run them any longer but I found them to be awesome in a couple inches of snow and when things slush up and got soft & mucky. The only issue I had with them was when the ground was frozen with out snow, they would lose studs because 45North used their large studs on these tires and they would pull out of the knobs. As I lost studs I replaced them with the smaller standard size and had no more problems. This mostly happened on the rear.

Can anyone give me recommendations for good winter tires with spikes?

Which is more important -- size or studs?

45N has their Wrath in 29 x 3, but most people consider it a 2.8. Decent grip from the studs.

Schwalbe has their Ice Spiker Pro in 27.5 x 2.6". Notably smaller in air volume, but the grip from the studs on these tires is exceptional. Like velcro.

Size is more important. The max size tire is 27.5x2.8" for the bike I'm looking for the studded tires for.

I found some Terrene Cake Eaters in that size. Does anyone have any experience with those?

Thanks!
