Looking for Used Quasi

1273 Views 15 Replies 7 Participants Last post by  Moondog1
Been a lurker for a while. I've got 2 rigs. One is a fixed 5" Switchblade the other is a 6mo old HH100x. I've come to the conclusion that I like more travel. The HH may end up for sale.... But what I am looking for is an end of the run Quasi. I'm not sure of size although, I do run a small Swithcblade and I do know a few people with medium frames and large seat towers...anyone??

Thanks,

John

Johnny boy!

you will be missed tomorrow morning on the "ride like an *******" ride!

sit tight, wait for the new Titus bike
I have one of the last of the Chris Cocalis Masterpieces

Soon to be a collector's item 04/05 Quasi (Sorry not sure of exact year). Size small. Polished. 1.5 headtube upgrade. Currently decked out with all Saint/XT/XTR, syncros rims, and a 4.5/6" Sherman. Purchased new end of last year ridden MAYBE 12-15 times (sat around all winter). Very slight rock ding on the underside of the downtube you can't really see but will notice if you run your finger across it.
I was thinking about selling just the frame, fork, headset, stem, because I really like the saint stuff and want to get a non-horst link frame. However, I'd be willing to sell complete for the right price. I took pictures but can't find my digital connector cable right now. I'll try to buy one tomorrow. Feel free to email me.
Thanks. Sent you a PM about the polished quasi! Even though Charles may break my fingers if I do it, I would like a photo if possible and I sent you some quick questions.

Well, the tires are dirty......

Looks like that one is perfect for big drops, it's beefy.
Beefy

I have a pretty tough bike....(see pic), but everytime I see this Quasi I am still a lil' jealous. This is my friends' bike and I've ridden it. It's awesome.

sweet! Check your PMs Chris. Looks like it's plenty capable for what I want to do.... (Insert Beavis and Butthead Heh,Heh,Heh)
decisions, decisions

Alright, I've been staring at the photos that Chris had posted of the quasi he's willing to part with for a week....I had to put a new fork (07 talas)on the switch this week since the talas I had on it has some weird problem and has to go back to Fox.(05 talas)

NOW, key question for the Titus community in general. Would there be a significant difference between my swithcblade set up with the 5" rockers RP3, and a 140mm talas up front and the Quasi with the Sherman 1.5 with a 6"vanilla set up?? I know there would be at least a few pound weight difference. 27lb switch as it stands....

Thoughts?? ANyone ridden both? I passed on the Quasi in leiu of the switchblade back in 2003 due to the "talas" version of the swithcblde being newly available. But the thru-axle/plush tons-o-travel thing still plagues me, and to make it worse I demo'd a Supermoto at the Titus demo-nite here in Austin a month or so ago....

Arrrgh can't decide. Thanks for being patient Chris.

The Quasi is in another class. Ready to take abuse day in and day out.

The Blade at 140 will feel a bit too slack at the seat angle. Still pretty nice and climb capable, but yet not quite there for the stuff the Quasi can handle on descends.

You seem like wanting something more than a trailbike. The Blade is one of the best Trailbikes ever made... but still a trailbike.

I think you should go for the Quasi if you liked the Super.

I have not ridden a Quasi, but I ride a 04 Switchblade with an AM1 up front and a Float rear with the 5* rockers.

Thanks Warp, that's the type of feedback I was looking for. I'm in the process of pulling the trigger and working the deal now. Thanks a bunch. Now then....
I have both a medium quasi and supermoto. I have ridden a switchblade with the 5.25" link but the quasi feels like it has way more travel (more than .7" difference as claimed). Quasi is an awesome bike, similar to the 5.7" SM. My 36 VAN seemed a little too tall for me on the quasi, but is ideal on the SM. It's all in what you like.
Well, It is arrived! Thanks Chris for the deal, frame and parts were as exactly as described! Now I'm waiting on a front wheel build w/thruaxle hub and in the process of gutting the Switchblade. Funny feeling the Switch may have to go. Hopefully out on it early next week. Thanks again to Csoskin and to the mtbr titus board in-putters.
