Hi,

I rode some trail a few years ago on the Fawnskin side of Big Bear Lake that went up to some huge boulders that over looked the lake. If I recall correctly it was single track all the way up.

Does anyone know the name of that trail?

Regards,
AC

Well, I do not remember. I think there is an "H" in the name. It should be the Grout Bay loop with the way steep out and back option that you are prolly refering to. The trailhead starts at the fire road, right?
Yes. this info is not to helpful. Really not helpful at all. But, I do like that ride!

I usually hit that first (just after eating my second breakfast in Fawnskin) before I ride Snow Summit.

I usally park at the the Gray's Peak Trailhead on Highway 38. I then ride Highway 38 into Fawnskin and climb Rim of the World Drive following the signs to Hanna Rocks Campground. Go to Campsite 51...that is where Grout Bay Trail starts. After the first short climb, it is fast flowing singlespeed heaven. It seems like most of the climbing is getting up to the overlook on Gray's Peak...but well worth the effort. Like maybe 8-9 miles after the start you will have the option of climbing Grays Peak as an out and back. My GPS readings below. It is one the of easiest rides I can think of.

12:52 miles
1473 feet of climbing.

Enjoy
