I have a $500 budget for a wheelset that I want to be both strong and relatively light..I am looking at then stan's crest but they have a weight limit of 190..i weigh 200 with all my riding gear and the terrain i ride on is fairly rocky in areas..would this set handle my weight and type of riding? any other recommendations?

Stans arch or flow would work. I'm 210lbs and they were recommended to me based on my weight. I ended up going with arch rims (more XC than AM).

Check your LBS for pricing on stock stans arch wheels. I know stores near me had them for about $500.

Agree. Arch if you want lighter and still fairly strong.
