Giving a routine service on my forks, following the guide ended up unscrewing the whole part rather than just the cap, but can't get the valve? Back together and was wondering how or any idea why it won't go back together
Automotive tire Automotive lighting Grey Road surface Asphalt
Plumbing fitting Gas Metal Cylinder Valve
Cylinder Plumbing fitting Metal Wood Pipe

It won't screw back in like it looks like it's supposed to, also tried a couple bike shops and they're not sure so any ideas would be a massive help

That looks like the expert damper and I'm not really familiar with it, but my thought would be to try to remove the red knob from the threaded rod it's attached to (guessing it has an Allen screw at the top?). Then assemble the threaded rod and then put the red cap back on.

I've tired that as well! But thank you!

Is it simply the O ring is causing a bit of friction, try grease to ease her in and push and turn at same time ? Although im sure you have tried !
I haven't tried greasing the o ring yet I'll give that a try! It feels like there's something in the way of it, I've had a look down it but I'm not sure what it's supposed to look like

Looking at some higher res pics. There's a pin from the side of the HSC spool that traps that LSC needle in place. This fits the recess above the taper but below the threads. You can see the damaged metal in your pic where it has been wound out past that pin.

You will need to take the damper apart further to clean up the damage and reassemble. Take the lower clip off the HSC spool and remove the preload plate to get the HSC spool out.
