Any Good Cycling Novels?
I want to find some decent cycling fiction, but am not really having any luck. I have seen a few, but would like to get some feedback on anything you folks have read.
I did some searching online, but get bored real quick sifting through all of the junk.
I did look a bit to see if there was a novelization done of Breaking Away. You know, one of those movie tie in things. Anybody know if that exists?
Anyway, any input on some good books would be appreciated.

This is non-fiction but a very good well written book about a couple who traveled around the world on their bikes. It's called "Miles From Nowhere".

I found a copy of "Richards Mountain Bike Book" by Charlie Kelly (Repack Rider on here I believe).....old book from '88 or so, but I am enjoying the history of the sport that's in the book.

I just got a copy of "Come and Gone"'by Joe Parkin. It's non fiction though. Pretty good so far, I really like his writing style/sense of humor. About pro bike racing in the 90's, road and mtn...

Non-fiction, Parkins' A Dog in a Hat and Come and Gone are some of the better books out recently. highly recommend both of them; there's more mountain biking in the second book.

The Yellow Jersey is a pretty fair novel, based on the Tour de France back in the mid-70s or so...

I read that book back in 1980 before I saw the movie, so yea it does exist.

Might not be what you are looking for, but I'm reading Lance Armstrongs "it's not about the bike". Good so far, and it dosen't hurt that I picked it up for 50c at a garage sale.

I just read The Lost Cyclist and it made today's riding seem easy. However, like many of the other suggestions, it is non-fiction.

A MUST read. Road and euro oriented but beautifully written. Thoughtful, true, and thoroughly about cycling between the ears, foible, and being imperfect.

For non fiction, as mentioned above, A Dog In a Hat by Parkin is really good.

Another cycling oriented non fiction book I have been meaning to get my hands on is The Masked Rider: Cycling in West Africa by Neil Peart. Geeky music fans might recognize that author's name.
