Hello All,

I'm new to the MTB scene and Colorado in general. Any good groups or rides that are nearby to Longmont, especially ones that would be open to MTB newbs?

Any good places you recommend beginners go? I've gotten some recommendations so far but I'd love to hear some more.

Thanks, GFB

The Lyons Tues ride would not be such a good fit for MTB newbs or beginners. Heck, even some very experienced riders don't dig it so much.
Ah, I forgot the n()()by angle.

I'll practice a bit and then hit up Lyons next year. Thanks guys.
Rabbit Mountain is beginner worthy. It's close to Strongmont and fairly short. You can ride there from Longmont and ride the loop all in under two hours (though I guess that depends on your fitness and the part of town you live in) and riding there will really improve your fitness, which will vastly improve all aspects of your riding, inlcuding descending. It's quite technical and rocky, but it is short, close to town and does not have a ton of climbing. Riding there can teach you some good skills.
