Thinking of doing something to my dedicated winter bike.

Right now I have DRT 4.1 which is damn heavy at 39 pounts, it's like an ebike without the e part.

Just wondering if it it feasible to get a carbon frame for a reasonable price. The frame needs to be wide enough to support 26 x 4.8 which is what I have now.

Yes, the Carbonspeed CS-197 and ICAN Sno1 and Sno2 are all good choices that are lightweight. I've had and raced the CS-197 hard for years now and it's been great. It has dual-position dropouts so I can (and do) move the wheel forwards and backwards to adjust the chainstay length depending on the tires, and it can take the biggest fat tires out there. Other options include possibly finding a lighter aluminum frame on closeout, like an RSD-mayor. I got one for something like $260 a few years ago, with shipping, and that was damn near how much it would have cost for shipping alone. That's a little more rare and more likely towards the end of the season, but still possible.

Carbonspeed is out of business though, right?

I don't think so, they occasionally post here. They were out of the frames for a while, but that was temporary.

I have had great luck with the dengfu sports fat bike frame. I think I have built 5 or 6 now for friends and family. They have great clearance and one nice extra feature is they have fully guided internal routing. So no fishing cables and no rattling. Just push in one end and it pops out the other.

I just ordered a CS197 frame last week. [email protected]
Supposed to ship UPS and be here next week.
How much do they charge now?
Did you order only the frame or frame and fork?

Also what is your height and what size did you order?

I am looking at my DRT 4.1 size Medium and geometry is really different so I can't figure out what size I would need.

$445 + 150 shipping. Ordered a 21", whatever that means... Has a 445mm reach.

I'm on a 19 and I'm 5'11". I just mate well with the frame. Out of all the fat-bikes I've owned, it's my favorite and I'd buy it again if I have to or it breaks for some reason, since I've definitely gotten great life out of it and it's been great for me. I like going with a slightly larger than the frame-size frame-bag, because you can pack out the bag a little more, rather than being stretched, so I'm pretty sure I got an XL bag in the L frame.
