Looking for direct mount

Direct mount stems are for triple clamp (or dual crown) forks. Not for single crown forks.

Not always. My neighbor has the same bike with a direct mount but has a single crown fork.

well unless he has some old ass single crown he shouldn't be running a direct mount as there are no current forks that use direct mount except fox 40, boxxer and marzocchi 888's

Beside you wont score a direct mount stem for 20 bucks as 90% of all direct mount stems are pushing 100 bucks .

Hmm, he might be running the marzocchi 888 direct mount stem then. Technically, you could run that stem on a single crown fork. Not sure why you would want to unless you have a really short steerer tube, and there is no way you are going to get that for around 20 bucks unless someone has one that they have trashed or is hard up for cash.
