Destroyed my rear wheel XT/717 6 bolt disc. Anyone know where I can get a rear only that won't break the bank? Thx

The rim is toast or the hub is or both? Why not just rebuild it?

He destroyed the hub as well?

If you can reuse the hub you could buy a new 717 rim and relace for less then $100.

Saw results of a run over wheel recently, the whole thing was a goner, crushed the flange on the hub as well as mashing the rim. I'd try a new XT hub (more engagement and lighter now) and same rim, with some Sapim Race spokes and build it myself, but that's me. A shop should be able to do a good deal on that or a similar wheel (maybe different spokes). Maybe ask Ventanarama (Larry - Mtn High Cyclery)? Or another builder who frequents the forums?

The car tire passed close enough to the hub that it was damaged. I wouldn't dare reuse. Definitely want/need to replace the whole 9 yards. I suppose I should just go to my LBS and have them build me one up. Thanks though for the suggestions.
