I would not say my opinion of the ID means Ellsworth sucks. I am just saying that the Moment and Epiphany are a huge improvement over the ID. This opinion is also coming from a rider that prefers "all mountain" style bikes. No high end bikes hold their value unless the frame is less than one year old and in perfect condition. (in that case you only lose 1/3 of the value)
The Id was designed before so called "All Mountain" bikes took off. So, it had XC geometry, which worked for some, but not all. I raced a couple 24's on it and it worked great for that sorta thing.
The Epi and Moment, like most other company's 5 and 6 inch travel bikes, have seen revisions over the years in all areas including geometry, hence the improvement over the Id.
Ellsworths actually hold their value better outside the US. Even better than, say, pre- Dw Turners. Not sure why, and not sure it matters either.
So shipping outside the US to Singapore or Israel has it's benefits (and risks).
