The Yellow Kirins are pretty big-at least a 2.3, probably more like a 2.4. I haven't had them long enough to comment on wear, but I do like the profile and they roll pretty fast. The Dude said:i bought some kinetics and they are not a 2.3.....i was kinda pissed....so if anyone knows of a long wearing 2.3 please let me know....
urban and some freeride......its going on a azonic ds1 with a sherman firefly....DJrider04 said:What kind of riding? Intense makes true to size 2.35's, and the 60compound isnt as fast wearing as the FRO. Ordered my 2.7 and 2.5 today....cant wait to try em out![]()
i dont like tires that i buy hoping they are a 2.3 when they look like a 2.1....binary visions said:Don't get all hung up on the actual tire size. As someone said on Ridemonkey, riding tires is a lot more fun than measuring them.
Why do you care if it's exactly 2.3 as long as it gives you adequate traction? If you ride 'em and find you want something bigger, then buy something bigger. The 0.1" difference in tire size isn't going to make a large difference in traction.
There's a lot more to tire size then "looks".The Dude said:i dont like tires that i buy hoping they are a 2.3 when they look like a 2.1....
Actually its 100% valid to be picky over tire size. If your fork (2003 Marz for example) or your rear-end don't have a ton of tire clearance - if you just buy a tire cause X brand fit, Y brand won't or the mud clearance might be shite, etc...binary visions said:Tire sizings vary a whole lot from manufacturer to manufacturer. If you start getting anal about what exact size your tire is, you're going to drive yourself out of your mind. There are things worth being picky over, but this isn't one of them. Just ride 'em.
That's not being picky at all. That's like saying wanting a 20mm hub to fit your 20mm fork axle is being picky.. You're bound by the constraints of your bike. He's not, he just got tires that look a little small to him.syadasti said:Actually its 100% valid to be picky over tire size. I just picked up a pair of yellow kirins, they are just about 2.3, as close as you can get. As for wear, it's too early to tell. The tioga factory dh tires are 2.3, and lasted me a long time. The Dude said:i bought some kinetics and they are not a 2.3.....i was kinda pissed....so if anyone knows of a long wearing 2.3 please let me know....
Please post pics..WestCoastHucker. said:i always machine my own tires, then they are always true to size........
i would post pics, but they are in their prototype stage (covered with electrical tape) and i am concerned that someone would try to poach my design before i got my patent approved....binary visions said:Please post pics.
Can you machine me some new hydro lines?
What a stupid question..WestCoastHucker. said:i would post pics, but they are in their prototype stage (covered with electrical tape) and i am concerned that someone would try to poach my design before i got my patent approved....
