Looking for first road bike and want to buy used .
Anyone recommend anything then the usual Kijiji , Ebay , Craiglist sites ?

Maybe pop in to Reynold's Cycle if you haven't already? They always seem to have a couple decent used road bikes for sale. There was a nice Opus there about a year ago or so at the Meg Drive store for like $1000, had a 105/ultegra mix if I remember correctly. Sparked my interest at the time but was a bit big for me.

Also, the TO bike show's this weekend. If you know what size/rough geometry you need there are killer deals there sometimes.

There are no road bikes on Pinkbike and my budget is "find a steal" so $1000 bikes are out of the question .

From new, it'll be tough to find anything really good for much less that $1K all-in. Used though, you might even make your way up to Ultegra! :thumbsup:

I check 2 pages into the Pinkbike roadbikes and it was
mainlly urban bikes and no road bikes .

Other option would be a cross bike. If you call around you can find them for under $1000. Maybe even cheaper as shops will be wanting to get rid of old stock. Cycle Solutions had some Norco Cross frames for under $200. Gone now.

Haha, i'm sure there are other places to find a "steal" ... pinkbike for one!

I'm not that excited to buy used, the time you've invested searching for the winning combo you could have saved enough to buy new. People always over-value their own trash too.

got a 56 Jake the Snake (2007, neon green, 105 parts) that I could make happen <1000 if you or anyone else is interested. Have different parts to fit on it to fit different pricepoints.
