Hide your women and children as one of those evil Bandolero's escaped from New Mexico to ride some AZ gnar.

At 8:30, I met up with RCC Le Buzz (the base of the Coronado Forest/Catalina Mountains), and from there his wife shuttled us up to the top of Bug Spring Trail. But first, we left my car at the bottom of La Milagrosa trail (Off of Snyder Rd - Corner of De Suzenu/Horsehead Rd.)

Hmmm, things didn't start off so well, cuz I accidentally had RCC's wife drop us off at the wrong lot, 1/4 mile below the actually trailhead, and then within two pedal strokes of pedaling up the trail, I snapped my chain. Double Drat!

RCC dropped a quicklink on my chain, and while we were dealing with this little mechanical, Sundog of Tuscon rolled up with some utter Tucson doods and to escort some utter riders from IMBA down Bug Spring. RCC and I tagged along with this group for, but split from them at the bottom of Bug's.

La Milagrosa did not disappoint Gnar was slayed, and 6.5 hours later we peeled ourselves off the trail. Should it really take that long to do 14.5 mile shuttle ride? Well yeah, when it has some sessioning, and 2,000 feet of climbing (total down was about 5,200 vf)

Here is a little video of the day:

Great trail. To call Millie a "shuttle" is a real stretch, of course. Quite a bit of climbing.
Nice Sam  . Thanks for taking of the Bandelero! Hmm, I think thats what Sam did = "shuttle" to the trail? Only studs like Chad, Krien, Sundog and Mad Max ride to the top then bomb down

Fo sho! RCC was is actually considering an AZ move.

As for shuttling this, all I have to say is that this is truly a gravity ride. By that, I mean that you battle it on both the ups and the downs.

Whats that at fifty four, is it a litter bug? Is it a litter bug?:band:

Sorry, couldn't help myself as the song is a bit stuck in my head:D What a cool trail and video, very nice! Filming with the camera tilted on some of the tech section fools around with head a little when you can't see the horizon, pretty cool effect:cool:

Thanks for sharing another trail I haven't seen and once again, thumbs up on the filming/editing work:thumbsup:

Fantastic Sam(s)...

Great edit Sam. Looked like a great group of riders, some awesome weather, and some fun chunk. Song choice kept the flow goin' and before I knew it, I was bummed because the video was over...

Seriously, love your style.

Can't believe you Phoenicians don't get down to Tucson more. Good stuff.
The truth is... Tucson has some good rides, but Phoenix has so many trails of all variety that its difficult to leave our backyards. A trip to Tucson, Flagstaff, Sedona, Prescott and MANY others is just icying on the cake. The more I ride, the more I think of AZ as a Mountain Bike mecca hub to some of the best the south west has to offer. My backyard is South Mountain Park. After work I drive about 5 minutes for some fun.

We're not evil unless you're a prohibitionist. Having a good time is our religion.

Looks like RCC had a good time.
