So I just picked up a couple Yakima racks (as seen below) and I'm trying to come up with a way to secure (lock) them to my crossbars. I want to leave them on my roof, but want peace of mind they aren't going to disappear overnight.
I guess first, has anyone ever had there's stolen? It would literally take 30 seconds for a thief to unscrew and walk away...
I know places, like rack attack, sell locking mechanisms and locks, but that'll set you back $40 x 2 racks = $80 bucks.
What are some of the cheaper solutions some of you may have used/seen? I'm thinking an extremely short chain link and lock, but i'm worried about rattling and such. Any ideas?
