Hello all. Just curious if anybody has happened to use the Lizard Skin frame protectors on their bike and what their experiences were? I am talking about the clear stick on protectors here, not the neoprene chainstay protectors. I know a lot of people say to use the helecopter tape or the gorilla tape, but I was looking at the Lizard Skin brand for a couple of reasons. I am buying something else from them anyways, and am below the free shipping threshold and this would put me over it, and I've heard some people say the other options (helicopter, gorilla) have taken off clear coat and/or paint from the bike. Of course, I don't know how widespread that issue is or if it's user error, but I'd like to avoid it at all costs and thought MAYBE since the Lizard Skin was specifically designed for bikes maybe it would be a smoother release.
I'll also beat some of you guys to the punch by saying I've never used the frame protectors on a bike and am normally in the camp of "it's a mountain bike, they get scratched and scraped". But, like I said, I was considering adding one to bump me over the free shipping, if they seem to work well. Plus I am buying for a new bike and a couple of the trails we ride are real rocky (pebbles) that get thrown up to the frame from the tires, so I figure it wouldn't hurt to have a layer of protection there.
Anyways, it was just something I was pondering and figured I would ask.
Thank you.
