On Saturday I rode the Little Mountain trail from the top of Emigration to Lookout Peak/Big Mountain. Came back down MoPi trail from Big Mountain pass and climbed back up the road.
I was concerned about the notes in the trail description on UMB that describe Lookout Peak to Big Mountain as having serious overgrowth, but this trail was actually the fun part and a relief from Little Mountain. Little Mountain was awful, overgrown with scrub oak for the entire second half. I don't mind pushing steep and rocky sections that I can't ride, but pushing through the bushes and tearing up your legs for 2 or 3 miles sucks.
Is going up Killyun a better alternative after the spring trail work?
Also- Krispy, I think you are right about the Western Trail connector to "The Rock". I am going to check that out next.
