^ The link above will take you to Google vid and shows one of the techiest guys on the planet demonstrating the essentials. On the right of the page there's a related link that shows all the skills you'll ever need without driving 16 miles into the mountains. I think your better off staying huge on the BMX track in Bogus using simple dismantle points on the structures. Set up ride times and have multiple riders able to put it back together. The youngsters are probably your worst enemy and will be the biggest draw to the track. You need to deter people from using it as a practice ground and keep it more as a trail. Most of the bigger freeride trails set up practice areas in a different locations to keep people from altering the jumps and dimantling them to create smaller ones. I raced BMX in its prime and saw it fall to commercialism in the mid 80's. It's nice to see the return of it and the term "freeride" sounds a little more soothing than "bicycle motocross" although it's way more. Red Bull seems to be turning it into a circus act which is exactly what Mt. Dew did to BMX. Here's a link to the full movie RAD if you want to see the demise of BMX:

If you plan on keeping it big I would be happy to donate time, money or whatever. Dismantle points and other deterrents would be easy to create. I have some other ideas on creating a more builder friendly course that would give a rider more than one option and the ability to choose their own fate.

Bogus freeride is nothing more than bogus!

You definitely wont need any of these skills to ride the bogus basin free ride trail:madman: . My wife and I checked it out last weekend:eekster: . All you need is a skate helmet, a camera and a bike with a hefty price tag:confused: . We're surprised to see Bogus Basin allowing this sort of thing with no supervision:nono: . You can tell no time was spent on design or construction just like other areas they have built. My guess is they'll be bored of the jumps in a few weeks and trash some other trail with new jumps. This free ride thing is a fad just like bmx was in it's day. Xc is the way to go in these parts and the tricks you posted are not needed on any of the trails or the city. Reckless is what we call it and someone will get hurt. Make sure you get a good pose for the camera:thumbsup:

Good call on the Free ride is a fad dont know if you noticed the freeride trail on the slopes of bogus or not but it is here. All the soilers need to take a step back and realize that just becausse we are not seen doesnt mean that we are not here. No matter how much you dont like big jumps, skinnies or, drops, Boise has recognized this style of riding. See you out there!

the mountain bike link

Its not a single track or a 20ft drop, but it's all-relative.

(vid link is out of order)

Today it's more about the bike rather than the rider (the point). If you gave me the choice of 1 10mile single track or a half, I'd take the half. I'll be bored with the single track in a few weeks and have to create another. I won't give details on the rest (my opinions) but the future is easy to see. What you don't know will never hurt you, can't wait for velopark.

It's all about having fun and respecting others choices and styles with openness, no matter what ya ride.

XCorleave= a little Yankovic, a little Edward scissorhands and the rest is irrelevant

It's hard to believe someone would graph the usage of this site?
I wonder why?
Kinda strange?
