For our winter riding here, we really dont get to used the big ring, so i was planning to replace my big ring on my Supefly with a bashguard to get a tad more clearance for the winter riding, and hopefully to save the big ring in the sub-freezing temps when i do whack it off rocks and logs.

Is there a good lightweight bashguard that will cover a 32 tooth ring? I obviously dont need a full dh guard, just something light that will protect it.

Yep, check if a LBS has any leftovers. I have a guard that I got for a nominal price, as it was left over from a bike build where the customer wanted a different bash ring.
