My 5.10 shoes soak up water like a sponge and I am going to be biking the 500mile Colorado Trail over about 10 days and don't want to risk soaking them and having a couple ankle weights for days. I am looking for alternative shoes that are lighter and can dry quicker but still have great soles such as the 5.10 rubber. One option that I am considering is resoleing an appropriate shoe with 510 sole. Other than that, has anyone found a good, light, sticky rubber shoe for flat pedals?

id say teva but i dont think there out yet. i think you have a good idea resoling some other shoe.

Check out Klim, they have a hiker and a shoe that are awesome. Full Gore-Tex bladder so you could stand in water and your feat don't get wet. Plus they breathe...

Or look for an open mesh shoe that dries quickly and wear wool socks.
