Anyone have experience in comparing the new Light and Motion Vega and the Nite Rider Mini Newt? Which is better?

I just got a Vega on sale and love it for night road riding. I also like the fact that it is interchangeable with the mounts for my L&M ARC. That means it'll be a great backup on trail if the arc ever faults.

Although I really like the idea of a self-contained light like the L&M Vega (battery, charger, and light all in one piece), the Minewt is much brighter. There are some mods you can do on the Minewt to make it much brighter (see HERE). I'm sure you could mod the Vega as well but I haven't seen any details. The sticking point on the Vega may be thermal management since the body is plastic.

Things are changing rapidly with new brighter light engines every few months. E.g. Lumileds is supposed to have a new 115 lumens/Watt K2 out in a couple months but I'll believe it when I see it. It's hard to keep up and even harder to know when to jump in. By this fall, you'll be seeing a lot of new and improved LED lights on a trail near you.
