i suck at the internet thing. thought id ask the locals. i'm gonna be in sheridan this summer. i know there's not much (nothing) on the east side. was wondering if there was anything in the bozeman area. or a reliable, not too expensive shuttle/rental service.

Big Sky is your closest lift access biking when in Bozeman.
cool. thanks.
How is the bike scene at Big Sky looking? Are they investing in the biking summer scene or is the economy slowing that down? What do you think the overall plan is for the mountain this next summer or two?, optimistic about it? I would love to see more resorts expanding their summer bike scene and am curious what the locals hear and know.
They (Big Sky) made some progress last year on the trails....refining a couple and adding a couple as well. It seems like they're continuing to invest in the bike trails, but I think the locals are driving this more than the resort itself. I'm not convinced that the resort actually sees this as a new line of business for them, but they have to keep the lift running for hikers anyway, so allowing (and sort of sponsoring) some bike trails keeps them 'edgy'.

The quality of the trails is worthwhile. It's no mtn biking destination, but it's definitely worth a day trip of you're close enough or checking it out if you're in the area.

Grand Targhee is a must, along with a day on Teton Pass (easy free shuttling) and possibly a 1/2 day at the Village.

The Targhee scene is going off, new trails coming next summer, along with races, lodging deals, etc.

Very cool. It never occurred to me that Targhee had a DH in the summer. I've been jonesin' to make a weekend trip down to Jackson to ride Teton Pass for the last 2 summers. This is just one more reason to get myself down there from Bozeman.

It's blown up in the last two years. Combining a day or two at Targhee, one or two on the Pass, it will blow your mind what is going on out here. Really good scene. PM me for more details next summer, for sure.
