I don’t do a lot of trail clearing, but when I do, I believe go big or go home. Nothing like a Stihl 88 or 880 to clear the path. :)

With modern geometry, that should be able to strap right to the top tube!
I attachit to the bottom of my toptube with those new straps everyone uses to hold their tube, CO2 and multi tool in the open so they can lose them at inopportune moments. I do believe in safety first, so always make sure I lock the bar out when riding with the engine running.

Yup, all the Silkys are very very nice. I'm still using a small one I bought about 20 years ago. Fits in my framebag. Easy cuts on the smaller stuff up to about 4" diameter.

Can Silkys even be sharpened?

The main thing, friends and neighbors, is do it safely...gloves and glasses at a minimum, and be careful the bigger stuff doesn't shift and either roll onto you or cause something else to shift and hit you inna nutz or worse.

This picture makes it look really small, but the fold out blade is 10 inches long.

This is a better picture of it. I've cut through 12 inch trees with it, maybe a tad bigger... you just have to get at it from both sides and take your time.

It folds up and fits neatly in my Camelbak Mule. I've had it back there for 3 years. It's just part of what I have on me all the time, so I don't notice it at all, but when I first got it it wasn't obvious in any way.

Just this month I've noticed things taking longer to cut through than normal, so I'm sure it's beome dull, but 3 years of regular use for 20 dollars at Home Depot is a great bargain. They don't have it in the store anymore, so I've ordered another one. The Fiskars one I got is way less of a performer and will be returned.

Sorry, no recent trail clearing photos w me and the bigboy, but damn it even kicks arse for home projects. I've used it on plywood, 2x4s and some other jobs around the new house that needed cuts in tight spaces the power tools wouldn't fit....I found some naughty trees in Annadel that I need to visit with the the bigboy soon!

FYI - If you have an ACE Hardware nearby they stock Corona products. (y)

I've been wondering when we'll start getting flamed for posting pictures of all of these totally fun and rideable logs we're taking off the trail, which makes them too easy and dumbed down.
