OK... who has done it?

Who has converted the steerer tube of a Lefty Headshok to a 1 1/8" to fit on a regular head tube?

I would really like to get my hands on a Lefty Ti and build her up to go on my current frame, which isn't a Cannondale so it's 1 1/8"...

Any advice? I believe I remember people doing it before, and people suggesting getting a Marzzochi steerer? But, who can machine the clamps? How much do you figure that'll run?

Also, what is the average going price on a used 2001/2002/2003 Lefty Ti? Anything I should look out for when puchasing one used? How much should servicing the fork cost?

Thanks for the help.

Keep in mind that the Lefty steerer tube is rivetted at the lower junction & keyed that the top (at least the early ones were - or was that the USE version...) - this was to eliminate any unwanted torsional flex.

Cheers,

Tom
