I have placed a classified ad in MTBR for a Lawwill Leader 3 Fork. It's like an AMP fork, but it has an oil-damped airchaber instead of springs or elastomers. I am auctioning it on EBay. It's in excellent shape, almost NOS.

it's not even remotely like an AMP

The Leader was a very very sweet riding fork. You could ride right at a curb and the fork would let the front wheel hop up rather than bash into it as it will with about any other fork. AMP forks suck. The ONLY good thing about them is they are laterally rigid so you can catch big air and land at an angle, which is why the MBA idiots were in love with it. With 2" of offset, they screwed up the handling of bikes with normal 71 degree head tube angles due to insufficient trail. The pivots were criminally wimpy. The "shock" if you want to call it that was laughable.
I rode a Leader for a few years until the day the schrader valve failed while on a ride in Moab.

Does anyone else have a leader for sale. I would like to pick one up. I may be chasing this auction as it is. I prefer a 1" steerer but I contacted Mert a while ago and he says that the steerers are easily replaceable as long as I can get a new one turned.

Totally true about amps being pretty poor. I bought a good condition one for $20 just to see what it was like. It's great for a commuter which is all I use it on but it does little offroad.

Thanks
Cheers

I love my Amp

Or loved it until I sold it and went back to totally rigid. Pretty much it was the only fork that was any where near as stiff as the Headshok I was riding previously. At 175lbs I didnt find the pivots sloppy and the spring (with a bunch of preload) and damper worked fine for my applications. I probably should have gotten a stiffer spring but other than that it was great.
