Hey everyone... I'm just checking up on the lastest conditions of some trails. The Forest Service website was last updated on July 10th, and COTA does not have specifics....

Anywho, COTA shows Charlton Lake as green. Is this accurate? I know the FS was suspending cut operations in that area due to fire hazard. It would be great if it truly were cleared.

And how is the Metolius Windigo from Happy Valley to Dutchman Sno-Park? COTA still shows this as red. Has anyone been up there lately?

Thanks for any input.

Yes, I heard Charlton/Lemish are clear. As is Maiden.

I have changed Metolius Windigo to green. Thanks for the heads up. I just got a report from FS that Metolius Windigo is open from Todd Lake to Lava. Dutchman to Mrazek is clear....and I know its cleared most of the way toward Three Creeks as well. I haven't confirmed its punched all the way through, but someone here posted they rode from town to trail 99 (now that's a ride!) perhaps we can get more input on that end of M-W.

With MW cleared to Lava, and Lava to Edison clear...the Bachee loop should be mostly free of blowndown...can anyone confirm that?

I Just returned from North Fork -----> Metolius Windigo -------> Dutchman Sno park -----> Dutchman/Swampy ----> Flagline Tie -------> South Fork loop. There was maybe one tree down the whole way! It was a great ride. I felt very, very strong and took only one 10 minute break. This is the most invigorated after a ride I've felt in a long time.

I was leery of Dutchman/Swampy, having never ridden it before. And while it's not quite Flagline, it is rather nice and flowy (is this a word?).

The creek midpoint on the Metolius/Windigo is running rather high. I decided it would be nice and cool to take off my shoes and wade across. The water was pleasantly not icy!
