Kind of an odd comment in the ad: "All pivots are currently un-greased, so you'll want to add your preferred lubricant prior to riding."
Don't think you can get them 'un-greased' - probably just me not understanding.
No biggie...

Just add grease to the pivots with the grease gun and you are "go to go"
Outdated design. It would require a lot of upgrading to be a current, state-of-the-art Turner. :p

Yeah the ano finish freaks me out too- why are the decals not on the frame? It's not a smooth clear ano like turner currently uses, it's a shot-peened ano. Or, maybe it's bead blasted or powder coated and the pictures don't show it well. Was the finish stock? I would want to know before I bid. Seems fishy.
My pivots are ungreased. After last weeks thunderstorm the bike sqeeked like mad. It was like being hit by a firehose but from the sky.
edit... nevermind.

The seat collar is on backwards NBD though.
That finish looks like it was rattle-canned. Even the zerks look silver... but they should be brass.
The rear tri is texturized, and exactly the same color everywhere. If I recall Turner's Ano changed color on the welds. So this seems like paint over shot peened ano...but the peening dimples should have pretty much been filled in if it was PC. If it's wet paint which is thinner, who did it? Turner does not use wet paint.
Yeah!

I am sure if who ever gets it wants the latest tnt, then he/she could do a rear tri swap.:eekster:

This is you opportunity cheesy!!!

Yours isn't 'unriden'! :)
Oh, I'll watch it alright. I'm bike shopping for a family member. :D I'm sorta bargain hunting though. That thing looks too nice.
Zilla - settle down before you set the city on fire

That is not mine - That is something I saw on e-bay. My spot will never be for sale. It is my favorite bike ever.
looks to me like it was shipped out, bead blasted and painted with a automitve spray of some kind. if this is true or close to it, it would explain the dry pivots, stickers and painted (now useless?) zerks. you can see it was well masked or chased and faced after paint. seems to be a nice job besides the zerks.
Zion, yes. I finally realized it wasn't yours which is why I yanked my inquiry and dove into the finish.

NBD really but if *I* were considering buying this bike as new and unriden I'd want to understand more about a finish I don't recall Turner offering, and an unused sticker set that has not been offered in more than a year. And there's still the issue of why the welds are the same color as the frame. Earlier Turner's Ano tinted on the welds in lighter colors because of the type of welding rods SAPA used back then.

The color is anodized silver, which I'm told is about 1/4 pound lighter than the powder coat version. This frame is so new, the decals haven't even been applied (but they're included).
I agree with CC, they did a very good job on the uh, "paint", but still, it should be mentioned.

What are you guys talking about? Rattle can? Brass zerks? Wet paint?

I don't see anything but a silver ano Spot with normal zerks.

Not that conspiracy theories aren't a lot of un, mind you. ;)
Okay. I guess I'm looking too hard.
Prolly should be out riding anyway... hey that's an idea! Cya!

Did Turner offer this color? If so, would a frame ever be sent with un-applied stickers? Why is the rear end not polished?

Where was CC when this frame was painted? And how much of an Audiophiliac is he?:skep:

Maybe his new gig is running "hot" rigs:ihih: We need answers!
My buddies black 5-spot looks very similar.

His has a very similar annodizing job (other than being black). Front and rear same color; definitely not smooth annodizing. This was from the first attempt at annodizing that Turner did I think.

Dave
looks like the same textured ano (front and rear triangles) that i have on my 04 blue spot. only the 04's came with romics. wonder how it ended up with rp3
