With the impending closure of the Sandias due to fire danger, a group of us made one last run.

There was one parking lot wreck, but no photographic evidence.

We stopped at the top before descending.

RCC went a little too far to the left

While supramk388 motored up

We're going to miss the local foilage

But next time I'm going to bring the elbow pads

And someone will have a new bike

As with all things, there's a right way

And a wrong way

very wrong way

We stopped to eat

and then rode out

That's it until things open up again.

What trail was that? Seeing how I won't be able to try out the Abq trails until they open, I guess I can live vicariously through your photos.

When was the last time things closed down...I don't remember that happening last summer.

Wow Bruce! Nice pics and as always nice write up. I need to get a camera so I can add some shots as well but not for a few more weeks.

Thanks for sending out the emails and calling everyone . You made sure we had a good last day bro. Now that you got a REAL bike you are ripping it up even more :D. Its good to see and you have waited long enough.

Tell you wife thanks again for the shuttle she is awesome .

Last year we were ok but the summer before last we had the same type of closings (well until we got rain that is).

Nice job guys! Sure wish I could have been witness to the carnage. Exactly how many broken frames have we seen this year...probably equal to the number of bloody elbows. Killer pictures Bruce.

The trail is from the towers to the Tram. Then down 10k to Tree Springs to Oso Corredor. Right turn onto Faulty. Traverse Faulty down to Canoncita. We took the easy way out and took a shuttle to the top. It still took about 4 hours, due to a flat (see arm pic).

The last total closure of the Cibola forest was from 12 May through 7 July 2006. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like we are getting an early monsoon this year.

WM *early* on Friday anyone?
