Hi: What's the largest diameter disc brake (BB7) that I can run on a PUG? I was thinking of running just one in the rear. What do you guys think?

i run the bb7 185mm front and rear because i want to do some loaded touring on single track. people are stopping fine with 160mm, from what i hear. i would run two brakes no matter what, if it were me.

If you only run a rear brake it doesn't need to be real big. Any size rotor will skid the rear tire. People do run that setup but it's not for me. 185 front, 160 rear works for me.

I think you can run 203 mm / 8 inch rotors without a problem. I'm pretty sure I've seen them on some of the bikes in the forum.

I'm runing 185 mm front and rear so I can interchange wheels in an emergency. I have a fixed gear on the front wheel and a 9 speed rear wheel. I feel I need both front and rear brakes, but I guess it depends on what you're doing with the bike. If the wheels weren't interchangeable, I'd run 185 front, 160 rear.
