While driving on Rd. 90 between Middle Falls and Quartz Creek along the Lewis River on Sunday morning, my girlfriend and I came upon a massive Cougar in the middle of the road. Its body had to be at least six feet long with a three to four foot long tail. When it saw us it immediately leaped across the entire road in one jump. I can not over emphasize how large this animal was.
We had just camped that no more than half a mile from this site the night before and we saw at least two or three larger groups of people camping almost within earshot this place.
I have always known that these animals are out there, but to actually see one and see how large they are sure does spook you.
