This forum has the biggest bunch of Pansies of them all! Lets see where do I start????
Trail conditions:lol: :lol: how many threads will there be for this now that the weather has started on a good week of sunshine??? and the wisheywashey people that post don't ride" Let the trails rest" and next week they will post yeah its ok to ride now ( Like they know how the trails are?)
And the Pansies that say they are not gonna post on here and/or only lurk - wow that makes you the better person for sure?!? Or the people who "Take a break" from the forum only to come back and answer everyones questions, like someone told them they had too read this forum in the first place???
Rides??? how many rides are posted on here.....almost none. Whats the deal with people not posting rides on here? Are they afraid? of what? Everyone whats to post a race on here, but no training rides to get ready for them.Weekly rides? why do bike shops not post weekly rides on here??
This forum needs a STICKY for alot of things: Vacation(Camping,trails too ride,places too see etc...)Trail condition( Closures - snow/wet/muddy/landslides etc...)

Yeah.......it's pretty lame but I keep coming back hoping for something interesting that relates to mountain bikes and riding. So, with that said.......I'm building another frame (geary), gonna ride BC this weekend (start at home and work up to Wash Creek and back....4 hours) for "race prep" (Big Frog and PMBAR). So, yes things around here have been overall lame this year....but I'll keep checking it out and hoping for something more interesting.....with lots of pics, laughs, and core bike spirit. :thumbsup:

But to answer one of your rhetorical questions people don't post rides because they already have people to ride with and don't want just anybody showing up for their ride and ruining their training schedule. However, with the Icycle just one day away I need to start training for it so I plan on riding Sycamore Cove today after I get done working. Anyone is welcome to join me

I plan to ride 4 laps around Duncan Park (Spartanburg) on my road bike sometime in the next week or 2. Please feel free to join me.
maybe its cuz most people talk about that kind of stuff on the more local forums instead of a forum as big as this one. its eassier to get rides and stuff together when its in a smaller area than a place that covers 2 states. i live right outside raleigh so getting of trianglemtb.com i can find all the rides and everything i really need to know there. not here.

This is as local as it gets for us. I thought everybody understood that this forum is for riders in Western NC and Upstate SC. The reason you don't see group rides posted may have something to do with the terrain and the riding culture in our area. The terrain here is very difficult and the riding culture is divided into small clicks of people. Very few people are willing to ride with others of different skill levels. The better riders don't want to slow down. The weaker riders are afraid they will get in over their heads and be led on a death march. One man's death march is another man's slow cruise. Lame but true.

Moto, you should lurk more. It's very rewarding. How was wind rock the other day? I agree with the folks who don't post rides because they don't want people encroaching on their day in the woods. I like not seeing people when I go to pisgah, and I am sure that folks like driftwood,for example, are in a similar boat. Not the same boat, that defeats the purpose. Lots of similar boats with 2-3 people in each out cruising around the backcountry trying to avoid the other boats.
