Anyone riding one of these posts?

I have a Trans X cable less dropper on my hardtail SS, it’s only 100mm drop.

I mostly use the bike fir jump, pump, trials, so a dropper like this is an alternative to a quick release and a rigid post.

These droppers drop as much as 175mm, don’t weigh much, seem pretty maintenance free, and they’re cheap!

Any reason to avoid it?

I have the KS Exaform Speed Up mechanical post. It works great. I have it on a 'road' MTB I converted.

This hydro version looks like a manual lever KS eTen. Not 100% maintenance free, and heavy. I had one and eventually replaced it with something better. You can replace the cartridge if it fails, and what maintenance is required, you can do yourself.

If you're just looking for a cheap alternative to a rigid and using the quick release, I'd personally go with the mechanical version. I think I paid less than $75.

Dropper is in. It was pretty rough the first couple of cycles, got better quickly. Seems to build a lot of pressure as you near the low position. Not sure if it’ll get better or not, I did about 3 cycles.
Summary - it’s a cheap dropper and acts like one. Seems serviceable though, more the Ford Escort experience than the Lexus experience.
it fits a Nimble9 2021 model and should accommodate down to about 33” pedal spindle to seat rail measurement and larger.

Cycled it 10 more times, it's smooth now, with some pop in the last 25mm of up and compression in the last 25mm of down. Trouble is it runs up pretty slow. Could be my seat clamp I guess, but I don't really think so.
I went ahead and ordered a regular 170mm dropper that was on Black Friday sale. It was $80 more (2x the price), but I know it'll work if I decide to take the bike cross country and need to cycle up and down a lot for features.

This exaform dropper is a step up from the quick release solid seatpost, and a step below a remote operated mainstream 2021 product.

I have the exact same model of Exa Form. I have been using it for a very short time, but I am surprised and uncomfortable at how difficult it is to compress it and especially how slow it is to recover its extension. Very hard and slow final. I don't know if it's normal, if it's defective, or if it needs some internal modification.

Thanks for the tips. 😊
